Introduction to this course

This A Level offers an excellent opportunity to gain a broad educational basis for Higher Education, professional training or employment in Health & Social Care. If you are considering a career in Nursing, Healthcare or Social Work, then this qualification will support your journey. During this course, you will be challenged through topics including human growth and development, communication and values, investigating disease and health and wellbeing promotion.


Entry Requirements

You will need five GCSEs at grades A* to C, including Maths, Science and English at grade B or above.


Career prospects

Upon successful completion you can apply for university courses in related subjects, such as the HNC/D Health & Social Care available at the Yeovil College University Centre, or professional training in areas such as Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Teaching, Social Work or Youth and Community Work. Alternatively you could progress to a related Apprenticeship or work in the sector.


How will I be assessed?

Four units are assessed through written coursework. The remainder are assessed through exams.
