Due to the short duration of just for fun, first steps, next steps and further steps course (night school) these course fees are non-refundable unless the college cancels the course
Introduction to this course
This introductory course will teach you how to achieve the perfect crumb coat, ganache sharp edges, covering with sugar paste, stacking and dowelling a 2 tier sponge cake. Sugar ribbons, simple sugar flowers, making royal icing, basic piping skills and basic modelling. Term project is a decorated rich fruit celebration cake. Students should be able to bake / supply sponge and fruit cakes. Students will need to have relevant sugar craft tools / equipment. (guidance given during session 1).  Apron essential.  Materials/ingredients for this programme are not supplied by the college.
